Public | kiama railway station

The Sydney to Kiama railway line was authorised by the NSW Parliament in 1881, and Kiama Railway Station opened in June 1893. It serves as the interchange between electric train services to Sydney and diesel train services to Bomaderry, and is of historical significance being the first part of the Kiama to Jervis Bay Railway (which terminates at Bomaderry). The platform, platform building, turntable and ash pits are listed as being of State heritage significance.

BHI’s involvement of the development of Kiama Railway Station involved the incorporation of ‘easy access’ and the construction of awnings, a bridge, lift and platform extension.
