Industrial | peakhurst

This project in Norman Street, Peakhurst is in an established industrial area and was formerly occupied by a collection of aged warehouses and factory buildings.

The site has an area of 12,000m2 and the overall project area is 8,000m2. The aim of the project was to provide a diverse mix of industrial units and office areas with a predominance of the smaller units to suit the market demand.

The site was planned to develop a strong street edge with car parking recessed under, behind which was created an industrial / business environment around an internal circulation driveway.

A diversity of materials and colours were used in the design to articulate the façade, accent entry points and to reduce the bulk and scale of the development’s building form.

The site gradients enabled a ground level podium to be constructed with car parking under to minimise the area of exposed hard stand normally required for such a development. Accessibility for service vehicles and maximum exposure and openness for the units were key elements of the design outcome.
